I want to embedd a larger circuit in my blog, but want to refer to seperate parts of it. Instead of creating multiple circuits, each identical with different thumbnails, it would be better to allow the embed code to specify the zoom? Eg the embeddable code is dynamic based on the current zoom. then all my different embeded circuits can link ot the same circuit on circuit bee.1 vote
This is definitely planned, and soon. We will improve the embed code block to allow you to set the position and zoom level.
This should solve all the issues you have listed here.
Thanks for the suggestions!
I don't know if that is a good idea, but I would find it great to have a system where I can put multiple versions of a circuit, because sometimes there are small mistakes. So it would be good, if there is a slider which you can move to browse old versions.1 vote
Yes this is definitely planned. We just recently added support to upload new versions of a schematic. We just need to build an interface to allow you to browse through older versions of the schematic as well.
This is possibly going to be a pro feature, though we’re not yet sure.
Please let us know what you think.
It would be really useful if I could alter the schematic a little after upload, adding notes and diagrams to it so that I can show people what I think needs changing. Or so that other people can show me!3 votes
Add a download button to the viewer that lets people download the original schematic files.
You could also add a bit for the author to attach more files to the schematic, allowing them to add board layouts, documentation, and other useful stuff to their schematics.3 votes
We plan to add this in the near future
It would be great if we could search for specific components within a schematic and zoom in on them or cycle through them. You could search by component name, type, or reference.1 vote
have a rss feed of public circuits as they are uploaded.2 votes
I don’t know how we forgot to do this! We’ll try and put this together asap.
Would like to see circuits by category or tag with ratings e.g robotics, music etc1 vote
We’ll be adding this sometime soon, but we want to make sure it integrates nicely with the upcoming Google Site Search.
We definitely want categories/tags for schematics, but we’re not yet sure Ratings are the right approach here. Do we really want to rate down ‘bad’ schematics, rather than to show how they can be made into ‘good’ schematics?
Just add feature that anybody can download circuit in PDF or KiCAD format.10 votes
KiCAD download is definitely coming, it will be available as a download link shown in the circuit view page. If people would like this button to appear within the viewer please let us know in this thread.
PDF download may come at a later date.
